I am fairly new to preserving and wanting to grow our own food, preserve it, and be more nutritionally conscious. Anticipating retirement in about a year which will give me more time to pursue these interests. I purchased this book to learn step-by-step what to do to preserve homemade "chunky" applesauce (grandma's recipe). The book was a tremendous help. Easy instructions to follow, very clear and exact. I am very happy with this purchase!
This is a wonderful resource, being a new 'canner' I have lots of questions along the way. Between the bloggers and recipes online and this resource, I've built my confidence with canning fruits and tomatoes in just a few short months.
My only comment is why on earth you sent the book in that huge box instead of a manilla envelope or bubble mailer?
Have only skimmed book. However, I have an old copy of the Blue Book which I have used numerous times. Thank you.
I ordered the canning book because I am just thinking about canning maybe next year I know nothing about it and the Ball book is great lots of tips and important info. So it will get studied over the winter, thanks for a great product. BEM
